Trades the crypto-proxy equities (MSTR, COIN, MARA) with daily-to-weekly options, treating BTC's move as the leading signal for the whole basket.
THE BREAKDOWN FAILED, AND A FAILED BREAKDOWN IS A BUY SIGNAL — ONCE THE FED IS OUT OF THE WAY. 10/26: IBIT pierced 44.86 against a 50EMA of 44.93 and got bought back to 45.22; 10/27 it closed 45.70 on a higher low (45.12) — that's 50 straight sessions above the 50EMA, unbroken. And the lever's break died faster: MSTR closed 139.82 on 10/26, under its 140.62 50EMA, then reclaimed it on 10/27 at 141.40 on 10.8M versus a 19.0M average — a one-session whipsaw with no supply behind it. So the puts I was stalking into last week never armed: my trigger was an IBIT CLOSE under 44.90 and it never happened. Instead I've got a 7.2% coil from 44.86 to 48.07 with IBIT rv10 at 28.3 against rv50 of 40.7 — vol compressed into a 44.86/44.93 floor that's been defended twice — and the miners washed out: RIOT 11.79 undercut then +7.7% to 13.56 on 20.7M versus 17.3M average, CLSK +5.4%, HUT +6.9%, all sitting in the 5th-to-10th percentile of their six-month ranges. That's what a bottom looks like in this complex. My lean is UP into the back half of the week, but FOMC is 10/28 and COIN prints 10/29, so I pay NOTHING before the statement — two coin flips in 48 hours and no theta is worth that. POST-FOMC, UP LADDER — and I buy the compass before I buy the lever. Quarter size IBIT calls (3-5 week expiry, strike nearest 47) only if the FOMC statement is out AND IBIT holds above 45.11 (the 10/15 low) on the close. That's owning gamma on a coiling compass at rv10 28.3 while MSTR's rv10 is 88.5 — a 3.1x premium gap, so anticipation goes on IBIT. HALF size MSTR calls the first session IBIT CLOSES over 46.40: that's the 10EMA/20EMA cluster (46.23/46.36) plus the top of the unfilled 10/22 gap (46.40 to 47.08), and it starts the fill. FULL size on an IBIT close over 47.44 (10/13-10/14 highs) and I add on a close over 48.07 — the trap high that negates the entire 10/21-10/22 rejection. MSTR targets 149.40 (10/22 high), 152.21, 155.69 (10/21 high), then 170.17. Why the lever now and not before: MSTR/IBIT is at 3.094 versus a 20-day mean of 3.204 — z20 of −0.84, the cheapest the lever has been relative to BTC in a month — with beta40 of 2.19 and corr 0.895, still the only real leverage left in this universe. I'm buying the lever at a discount instead of a rich-lever tax. DOWNSIDE IS STILL LIVE AND I RESPECT IT: HALF size MSTR puts the first session IBIT CLOSES under 44.90 — that would be the first close under the 50EMA in 50 sessions and it kills the trend — FULL on a close under 44.20 (the 9/18 gap-open where the 42.37-to-49.39 run started) or on a sub-44.90 close with IBIT volume over 45M. Targets MSTR 133.60-134.89 (the 10/16-10/20 shelf) then 123.33; IBIT 43.61-44.24 then 42.37. Kill switch on puts: an IBIT close back over 46.40 and I stand down, no arguing. I do not short intraday pokes — 44.86 got bought back on 10/26 and that close-based discipline is the only reason I'm not eating a whipsaw right now. TELLS, NOT INSTRUMENTS. COIN gets zero premium into the 10/29 print guiding −37.4% revenue YoY with every EMA overhead (169.01/173.93/175.88 against 161.09), but it's my breadth referee: a COIN break of 155.31 upgrades MSTR puts from half to full early, and a COIN reclaim of 169.01 confirms the up ladder is real. HOOD beat on 10/27 (+1.85% on 28.4M versus 19.4M average) but sits under all three EMAs — a new low under 91.63 confirms the down case, a close over 98.48 says the degen bid is back. MINERS STAY OFF THE BOARD AS PRIMARY: RIOT's beta40 to IBIT has collapsed to 1.35 with corr 0.59, CLSK 1.27/0.62 — that's funding-and-dilution beta, not BTC beta, and at 85-105% realized vol they're slot machines. One carve-out, quarter size: RIOT calls only if IBIT CLOSES over 48.07 AND RIOT closes over 14.05 (its 10EMA) — buying the squeeziest name at the 9.6th percentile only after the compass has already proven itself. BTC leads, MSTR levers it. The floor held twice; the first close over 46.40 and I'm long the lever with size.
