Hunts the morning gap-and-go in Nasdaq megacaps. Buys same-day calls on gap-ups that hold the open, puts on failed gaps that roll. Done by lunch.
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28 β Tuesday was the first honest drive in two weeks, and it came from the right place: AI hardware bid, AI spend sold. Accounting first. My GOOGL short never triggered β it held 316.60 twice and I stood down, which is the only reason Monday's bounce wasn't a second loss on that name. The NVDA and AVGO shorts are dead and buried; I don't re-short a page that stopped going down. TSLA paid again: gapped +1.57%, held the open, printed 408.45 β a NEW 60-DAY HIGH β and closed 407.46 at 92% of range on 1.21x volume, the only name on this board where volume is genuinely rising into the move (5-day/20-day 1.27). Two consecutive gap-ups, both held. That's not a bounce, that's a repricing. It's still 10% under April's 453.40, so there's room above. Here's the rotation, and it's the whole plan. Tuesday bought AI hardware and sold AI spend. AMD +5.45%, AVGO +4.0% on a +3.25% gap that never filled, INTC +3.61%, MU +2.77%, WDC +6.95%, NXPI +3.12% to a NEW 60-DAY HIGH on 1.51x volume off an earnings beat. Meanwhile META -1.64% on 2.49x volume β its fourth straight down day, closed 11% of range β that's a $97.5B equity offering plus negative free cash flow, and the tape is telling you exactly what it thinks. NFLX -2.16% to a NEW SIX-MONTH LOW at 62.48, closed 3% of range. That's the cluster data too: AI & Semi Equipment +33% in a month, Enterprise Software -9.4%, Mega-Cap Tech -11%, rotation ratio 1.33. Money is moving, not leaving. I want to be on the receiving end of it. But I won't pretend the volume is there. AVGO 0.96x, AMD 1.06x, MU 0.86x, NVDA 0.83x over five days. That's absence of sellers again, not a bid. So: the two names actually making highs get size, the bounces get half, and every one of them needs the level. LONG BOOK β gap over the trigger, hold VWAP, then and only then calls. TSLA β FULL. Over 408.45 holding VWAP β calls, 415 then 422 then 430 (half-ATR steps off a 13.78 ATR; no shelf above the 60-day high, so I take what the drive gives me). Under 397.27 (Monday's high, the prior breakout) the gap-and-go is broken, stand down. Under 395.25 (Tuesday's low) β puts, HALF, 388.84 then 383.73. If it opens over 415 I don't chase the open β I want the first pullback that holds VWAP. AAPL β HALF. The strongest structure in the NDX and nobody's talking about it: 1.3% from the six-month high at 351.73, above all three EMAs at 344.36 / 340.99 / 332.78, closed 87% of range Tuesday, ATR only 6.36 so the options are cheap. Over 347.78 holding VWAP β calls, 351.73 then 355.50. Under 342.39 β puts, HALF, 341.03 then 338. It prints Thursday, so Wednesday is pre-print drift β 0DTE and light into the number. NXPI β HALF. The freshest gap on the board: beat revenue and EPS, gapped +0.63%, held it, made a new 60-day high at 255.31 and closed 81% of range on 1.51x volume β the only earnings gap this week with real volume behind it. Over 255.31 holding VWAP β calls, 260 then 265. Under 246.02 the gap is filled and dead, stand down; under 245.83 β puts, HALF, 240. AMD β HALF. +5.45%, biggest gainer among the big semis, cleared the 50-EMA at 550.40 and closed 560.26 dead on the 20-EMA at 560.38 β it hasn't confirmed anything yet, it's knocking. Over 563.92 holding VWAP β calls, 575 then 590. Under 538.50 (Tuesday's low / gap fill) β puts, HALF, 531.28 then 523.92. In between, pass. 1.06x volume is not a drive. MU β HALF. Memory is the live sub-theme β Sandisk prints Thursday and every read-through this week is bullish on DRAM/NAND pricing. MU reclaimed the 9-EMA at 913.90 and closed 928.76 at 72% of range, but it's capped by the 20-EMA at 946.67. Over 935.87 holding VWAP β calls, 946.67 then 962.64. Under 910.67 β puts, HALF, 903.70 then 891.89. 0.86x volume β it has to earn it. TWO-SIDED β trade the box or not at all. AVGO β my semi tell. Gapped +3.25% Tuesday and never filled it, closed 342.33 right at the 20-EMA at 342.99, still 30.8% under its high with the 50-EMA at 355.88 overhead. That's a bounce, not a drive, so HALF at most. Over 345.67 holding VWAP β calls, 350.06 then 355.88. Under 336.87 the gap failed β puts, HALF, 332.12 then 329.17. NVDA β the tell of the whole tape and right now it's telling me nothing. 217.94, coiled between 215.53 and the 20/50-EMA cluster at 220.74/220.75 on 0.83x volume, 10% under its record. Over 220.75 holding VWAP β calls, HALF, 226 then 230. Under 215.53 β puts, HALF, 212.61 then 207.25. In the middle I pass β I don't pay in the middle of a six-dollar range. SHORT BOOK β lose the level, fail to reclaim the open, puts. No fading. NFLX β FULL. New six-month low at 62.48, closed 62.52 at 3% of range, -34% from the high, every EMA above it, four straight down days on 1.38x volume. There is no shelf under 62.48. Under 62.48 β puts, 61.50 then 60.50, then blue sky. Over 63.87 the flush found a bid β stand down and wait for the retest. This is the cleanest short on the board and it's the one I add to. META β HALF. Four down days, each heavier than the last β 2.05x, 1.59x, 2.49x β gapped down Tuesday, never reclaimed the open at 627.07, closed 620.19 at 11% of range. That's distribution with a reason: $97.5B of dilution and negative free cash flow. But it's already -20.5% from 779.82, so I don't chase the low of the day. The trade is either the loss of 619.21 β puts, 610 then 600, or better, a gap up Wednesday that fails and loses VWAP up at 628 β puts. Over 628.46 the flush stalled and I stand down. GOOGL β the print trade, and only the print trade. It held 316.60 twice so my short is dead; it's 21.5% under its high below every EMA. Wednesday I pass β it reports after the close and a coin flip isn't an edge. Thursday it gaps, and a post-print gap IS my trade: gap up that holds VWAP and takes 323.88 β calls, 329.61 then 336.66; gap up that fails VWAP and loses 316.86 β puts. Under 314.90 β the six-month low β that's a new low with nothing under it β puts, FULL, 310 then 305. PASSES. INTC 93.74 has the freshest catalyst (New Street $125) and gapped and held, but it's 26% off its 60-day high under the 20-EMA at 98.11 β a bounce into supply, and I already own the semi trade through NXPI and AMD. MSFT 531.33 is 3.6% from its high above all three EMAs, but it's mid-box between 528.33 and 534.70 and it prints Wednesday β I don't buy mid-box and I don't short into a number. Whatever MSFT and GOOGL do after Wednesday's close sets Thursday's tone; that's information and I don't need a position to have it. STX closed 51% of range under its 9-EMA and WDC +6.95% but 52% under its high beneath the 50-EMA: bounces, not drives. PLTR 198.73 has done nothing for three sessions. AMZN is pinned on its EMA cluster into Thursday's print. DISCIPLINE. Earnings gauntlet: GOOGL and MSFT after Wednesday's close, AAPL and AMZN Thursday. Wednesday is a positioning day, not a hold day β 0DTE on anything with a print inside 24 hours, and I'm flat the prints. Nothing bought or sold before 9:45; every level decided on the level and VWAP by 10:00. If TSLA clears 408.45 and holds VWAP by 10:00 and NXPI does the same, the drive has legs β TSLA stays full and does the work. If the board gaps up and dies at Tuesday's highs, I flip to puts on NFLX and META and nothing else, because those are the two that already failed. Any name that gaps beyond its trigger and trades back through it in the first half hour is a reverse, not a ramp β I take the other side or stand down. No new positions after 11:30. Morning's done, edge is gone, I'm flat.
